Other Junk

I had a pretty sweet weekend. I went to Rent as I already wrote. However I really wrapped up my part of the senior project all I have left is a write up on what I did and learned. Next semester is going to be cool if I can keep working on this project and perhaps get paid while doing it. I finally understand CVS now because of this project. I was the one responsible for building our CVS server. I have to say its a system I have learned to hate just because it was so frustrating to build. CVS and FreeBSD both.. they drove me up the wall. Except I left with an appreciation for CVS and a greater love for my linux distros.

Anyone have ideas on how to migrate all of a livejournal entries off of LJ? I want to put it all in some sort of blogging system of my own i think. I have been toying with it for a while now. I don’t know if I am gunna go for it. Does anyone care?

On Audio Quality

I think I prefer crappy headphones with good bass now.

After a week or so with some pretty decent headphones I am quicky discovering how bad some of the recordings I listen to are. Its really a shame because I like the artists but I hate the quality of the recordings. I am just learning to block it out and enjoy the music without analyzing quality all the time. The side note is that Dillinger Escape Plan is pretty cool and funky.

Daily Update

Today:
I went to the city with most of the floor to see Rent. The trip was our “cultural event” for FYC it was pretty good. I liked most of Rent except the end. I thought the end was retarted. Following the fun in the city and our bus being late 15 minutes we proceeded on to the Priory restaurant in Newark. The food was decent there it was not amazing though. I was hoping for better… oh well. Yet again our bus was over 15 minutes late to take us back to school. Now I am camped out in GITC working on ActiveCampus trying to get the server up and going before it is too late in the semester(oh wait… too late). Well hopefully I will get the systems databases imported at least tonight. I believe the development server still needs to be built though. Working with a raw unix sucks I hate compiling stuff. FreeBSD can bite me it is archaic and nearly useless to me. I am wasting way too much time on trying to get basic software running on it. If I was using a Debian box I would of had the system running a week ago because the packages would be ready for me to use. Ok I’m gunna stop ranting now.
The rest of the week:
Somewhere during the week I decided to install Fedora Core 2 test 3 on my primary machine. I managed to ruin my partition table completely with it. I had to format my whole box which sucks. The same night I did that my phone died completely on me so I had to drive to Westfield to get a replacement one(at least Cingular did not give me junk). I think my old one was very defective because the pictures I took on the camera always turned out very blurry. Monday! Yes monday my MD recorder showed up, total W00t, it completely rocks. I bought nice new headphones as I have said before to go with it. I experience audio purity like never before now. Along with my new MD recorder I called dell and had them replace my cruddy DVD/CD-RW drive in my laptop. My replacement was a uber sweet upgrade to a 24X CD-RW/DVD drive. I’m going to be burning all my disks on my laptop from now on. OH and finally I installed the newest version of iTunes and it ruined my playlist and my attempt to listen to all my music.
