Hampton Beach Summer Fun

For those who do not know yet. I am going away with Campus Crusade for 10 weeks this summer to Hampton Beach, NH. I have been curious to how close to the beach I would be so I looked up the location in satellite imagery and I am very pleased to say the least.

On a side note Acme Mapper and Maporama make a good combo. Maporama provides international mapping with Long/Lat. coordinates provided(for GPS freaks) which then can be thrown in to Acme Mapper quite nicely. Oh and I am seeking people looking to partner with me this summer in financing my work this summer. I need to raise $2500 to survive this summer if you would like to contribute email me to drop a comment and make my day.

Good Audio == Happy Dan

I bought myself a pair of sweet Sony Earbuds. Now I really am noticing how bad of a recording this Yes Greatest Hits album. Of course this is given concidering the songs on here are probably more than 30 years old and not digitally remastered. I had to get these since I recently cracked one of the speakers in my large DJ style headphones. Even then those headphones did not have the audio clarity these little earbuds which is pretty amazing.

New toys

I bought a portable Sony NetMD Recorder. I’ve been looking for a better solution than waiting 45minutes to load up 15 songs on my ipaq and this seems like it will be much better. I’ll let the world know when it comes monday or tuesday.

Mathematical Induction is retarded. Computer Science and Math can bite me because they are stupid and also cannot write books for crap.

It puts the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again

Ok. I woke up way to early. I have an exam at 1PM which I feel totally unprepared for. I think I have finally learned to cram this semester. Unfortunately that seems to be the only way I can study anymore. Right now I am just taking a brain break. I have been pumping it full of digital electronics theory and heavy metal all morning since around 7AM.
I wish that Semagic would pick up the playing music from itunes. I have all but given up on all mp3 players but iTunes. It just addicting although I think once I complete listening to every track in my 20.2 gig collection I will prolly not feel as compelled to using iTunes anymore. I like that iTunes has a last played date so I can force myself to listen to all my music over time. I have been working on listening to my whole collection since the beginning of February and I still have about 7 days of audio to listen to.

New Toy!

I managed to drown my old T720 in the toilet this past weekend. Lucky for me that no stores around East Brunswick have any T720′s in stock so I had my choice of phone at any cost for the $50 deductible. I picked out the new Moto V400.
The phone is a massive improvement from the T720. Besides the much improved 65k screen the UI has been reworked to be more user customizable which makes me happy. The other perk for me is that it has an integrated VGA(640×480) digital camera. The placement of the lens is a little annoying though because it seems to be in a place where I like to rest my index finger most of the time.

Its a cool phone but it was not easy to get. The insurance is not run by the phone company so none of the stores know what they are doing with the insurance. The phones have replacement options and my old phone had 3 replacement option phones which were not in stock anywhere. I was told many times to just go to another store. Since I have a life beyond driving to Cingular stores I made them find a store for me. They told me of a store that was about an hour away so gave up on that. I had to call back and threaten to cancel my service(which would of been very stupid of me to actually do with the nasty termination fees). Once I did my threatening they finally called up the insurance company directly with me on the line and got them to agree to add phones to the replacement options. Once this happened they let me get what ever I wanted. I wish the new Nokia N-Gage was out. I would of gotten that.

Class is soon. I have two exams this week. I do not wish either of them upon myself. Digital Electronics which is transistors, transistors, and more transistors and then Discrete Math which is just plain awful, its all varieties of math that I hate. I never realized I prefered calculus and algebra over adding regular numbers till this class.

As a side note.. Spamassassin is a wonderful thing. It filters out at least 150 crap emails for me a day.

The fun of days past

I should of posted all this sooner but its been a busy week for me. Over easter weekend Dave, my brother and myself went on a Wierd NJ trip. We visited the devil’s tree, and Napolean’s brother Josephs estate(read the book if you need to know more). Either way the trip was interesting and i took 80 megs of pictures. I brought my laptop along with us on the trip and we navigated all over the state using mapping software and GPS. It only screwed us over once. I was searching for a particular river in the state but it located a town/road with the same name. I was led to the wrong place(and in the wrong direction). It was ok because the drive was fun. The trip reminded me that I still want to get an DC/AC converter for my car.
Along with the driving chaos my bro and I had much fun with his newly built(and redesigned) spud gun. We more pictures again of course.

The joyful news of the moment is that my 27″ TV just freaked out and died so now I have to use the crap 19″ tv from the corner with lame mono sound. Bah. I need big tv.

A new phrase

So I have discovered a new profane phrase of the day. I overheard it during my awful electronics lab.
“Assed Out”
Well.. I found it amuzing.
